 Initiated, organized and lead a cross functional core team for the Senior Living Product Line to coordinate the product development activities within the organization.
 Led the consolidation of three product lines attained through acquisitions into a best of breed single product line reducing inventory, training, support and service needs.

MICROWAVE RADIO COMMUNICATIONS, BILLERICA, MA 2003 – 2005
Engineering Manager
 Managed team of eleven hardware and software engineers through several development cycles creating microwave transmitters and receivers for the broadcast markets and public safety markets.
 Led cross functional New Product Introduction (NPI) team streamlining product development process resulting in the elimination of schedule overruns.
 Launched initiatives through two management teams improving internal customer satisfaction metrics.

TEKTRONIX, CHELMSFORD, MA 1998 – 2003
Engineering Manager 2001 – 2003
 Managed team of thirteen hardware and software engineers, QA, tech writers, and support personnel in developing Windows based optical transmission test products through several successful product development projects – on time and under budget.
 Developed and maintained department budgets and forecasts. Created short and long-term department goals, objectives, and priorities in accordance with product line and company goals.
 Worked with senior staff to develop and implement New Hire University to rapidly bring engineers up-to-speed and fully productive within 2 months of hire. Tripled staff size over 18-month period.
 Led engineering product development partnership between Genrad/Teradyne and Tektronix.
 Successfully represented engineering organization during annual ISO audits.
Senior Software Engineer/Project Lead 1998 – 2001
 Lead the development of a next generation Test and Measurement Platform Architecture and the Measurement Interface Architecture. This architecture was used to develop and deploy distributed test and measurement systems for monitoring and testing optical telecom switch networks.
 Successfully promoted the TAMPA and MIAMI architectures internally within Tektronix across multiple product lines and business units. Created an internal development community of platform developers to facilitate code reuse and the sharing of resources.

HIGH GROUND SYSTEMS, BOXBOROUGH, MA 1996 – 1998
Senior Software Engineer
 Defined, designed, developed API, command line interface and database lock manager in C++ for the Removable Storage Manager (RSM) incorporated into Microsoft Windows operating system.
 Designed and developed custom installation programs in C++ for the HighGround Media Mirror and Storage Resource Manager applications including installations for follow-on product releases to handle product upgrades and reinstallations.

MICROWAVE LOGIC, CHELMSFORD, MA 1994 – 1996
Software Engineer
 Developed and maintained embedded operating system and application code for Intel x86 based architecture using C/C++ and Pharlap TNT DOS extender to control broadband transmission test instruments for ATM and SONET transmission protocols.
 Maintained software tools, compilers and development systems and determined upgrade strategies. Evaluated and tested new products and participated in several vendor beta test programs.
 Developed graphical DOS based software in C for use in manufacturing test software.
