Buffett Could Reshape Nuclear Power Industry

by davidlap 27. September 2008 20:58

I saw the headline: “Buffett Could Reshape Nuclear Power Industry” in the Wall Street Journal on Friday and I immediately thought of the strategy discussions we had at Boston University in the Executive MBA program on how industries evolve.  We never really listed that one way could be when someone buys the whole industry.   I have difficulty comprehending his wealth and the magnitude of what he can do with it.  It is as if he playing the game of Monopoly.

Warren Buffett has the kind of wealth were he could probably buy up enough dairy farms in the US to change the way Americans buy milk by switching from 1 quart, 1/2 gallon and 1 gallon containers to 1 liter, 2 liter and 4 liter containers.

About the author

I am experimenting with hosting my own blog engine on my website.  If anything seems broken or you think the structure could be improved please let me know.

 Upcoming things to do:

- Continue porting several external blog entries to my own blog engine

- Convert entries from XML to a SQL database such as MySQL

- Add the tag cloud back in.  I don't like the current implementation that changes the font size base on the number of posts.  I am either going to just alphabatise them or rank them by putting the ones with the mots posts at the top.

- Look into hooking the blog into some sites like Google and Amazon

- Setting up some analytics to monitor any traffic and click throughs (assumes anyone even reads this)

- Make connections to my blog from my two main social networking sites LinkedIn and Facebook

- Misc blog theme modifications
